Touge Session

Luang Prabang, Laos

Luang Prabang is one of the more visited towns in Laos.  It's a bit different than Thailand, as it is much less developed, but has a lot of French influence as well.  It is actually more expensive here than Thailand, although the country is much more poor.  here are some pics of around town.

I started my night with a Beer Laos, which costs 7,000kip.  The food is a coconut sweet rice type of cake.

There is lots of street food available during the day and especially during the evening night markets.  You can expect an average dish to cost around 15,000kip.

Met this cat up at the top of Phousi mountain.

It was very foggy early in the morning, so I ended up going back later in the day so I could see the town.

The bamboo bridge as monks cross.

Around Wat Xieng Thong Temple.

Lots of local artwork is available.  One thing that stinks about backpacking is lack of space to buy lots of souvenirs.

Now you can see from the top of Phousi Mountain.

Local street in nicer looking area.

And some local street soup, Kao Soy.
